Before I leave for Dallas I decide to stop at this little shop that specializes in donuts. I get 4: 1 chocolate, 1 caramel, 1 chocolate with hazelnuts and 1 with chocolate and a mixture of corn flakes and fuffetti. The donuts are well filled and nicely decorated. The dough is a cross between a classic donut and a doughnut. Yummy, maybe a thoughtful thread, but yummy nonetheless. The place is really simple, with a display case that shows off the products nicely. Service is fast and friendly. The price of the donuts is absolutely right.

We moved in nearby and tried this place around October and have never looked back. Hands down the best donut place we've had, Shipley's can't compare, especially the kolaches, we like to get the jumbo. My favorite donut is blueberry cake, and again theirs is just top notch. Perfectly soft inside with a nice slight crunch when you bite into the glaze shell. The boudain kolaches are also great. Their iced coffee honestly tastes just like the Golden puffs (or honey smacks) cereals, a bit sweet for me but still great . The prices are also incredibly reasonable, not overpriced at all. Even if there's a line out the door, you won't be waiting long. They keep things moving very fast pace, there's a small eating area inside if you want that, we like to grab and go.

Loved their jumbo kolaches and efficient and friendly service. The kolaches were served warm fresh out of the oven. What made them stand out was the fact that the bread was slightly crusty/flakey and the hotdog was larger than usual, making for a more balanced bread-to-meat ratio. I’ve had fancier juicer sausages, which probably taste great on their own, in kolaches but for $2.80, the Queen Donut ones are a winner!

I've been going here for many years. I used to live right down the street. But I still regularly travel to the heights when I want the best. The ownership is absolutely wonderful. Same family that owns Hughie's next door. (Hughie's used to be called Queen Dairy, an off brand DQ that never did very well. Queen Dairy was next to Queen Donut. Cute.) The delicacy here in my opinion is the CROISSANT SAUSAGE & CHEESE KOLACHE. It's buttery and flaky and sausagy and cheesy. Soo Soo good. Absolutely a staple of the heights and the city. Not just another local donut shop. This is better everything. Both sweet and savory. Promise.
